Transporter FInished

I finished modeling and painting the Mech Transporter and all in all I am pleased with my results. For this week ill rig the mechanical components and place my both my models in the fireplace scene to light.

Painting in Mudbox
 Rendered in Maya.

I been creating a scene with paint effects and low poly meshes that I had previously prepared for edw. Rendering times are high but I should finish on time depending on how well my rigs allow me to animate.

Happy Progress

So I am very close to finishing up the Transporter. I wanted to make use of this break the best way I could. So I looked at my design critically and kept the things I liked and scrapped the things I didn't  In the end I am really happy with the result. I will finish things this week and hopefully solve the environment issue.

Week 10 Update

I had planned to use this last week to create my environment in Vue. Since vue is not up on the computers and might not be till we come back, I decided to work on tightening things up. I went back and started prepping the model for some rigging so I can have it posed when I present next week.

Breakdown of the work i did this week

Restructured Body -1.5 Hours

Updated Shaders (Help seperate main compontents) - 1 Hour

Joints and Model Tweeking - 4 hours

Lights - about an hour.

Cockpit - 1 hour

Grouping and Renaming - 5.5 hours

I plan to also have the model completely textured by next week when it comes time to present. The textures may not be completely finished but will be at a point where I could leave them, should I get backed up on y timeline.

The Mech Development

The Main body parts, once modeled, completed the form of the Mech I have named Gladius. Gladius is the Latin word for sword and is also a type of sword. The form once completed, exposed some flaws and problems. The foot area lacked an ability to pivot. The hands design clashed with the overall common design aspects I created with the mech. Also the pelvis area had some substantial problems with scale and form. I went about to correct these problems and came up with this.

I have corrected the problems previously stated and am breaking down major components with color,
